As part of registration process for candidates on the APVMA Temporary Employment Register, all candidates are requested, but not required, to attach a current Australian Federal Police (AFP) police check (‘current’, meaning up to 3-months from date of issue) as part of their application. This will assist in finalising any offer of employment in a more timely manner.

Temporary Employment Register

The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) is encouraging applications from applicants with strong administrative skills for its temporary employment register for roles based in Armidale, NSW. 

Administrative positions are spread across the agency and may fulfil a number of duties, including:

  • Contributing to the pre-market assessment of agvet chemical products, including case management and stakeholder liaison;
  • Providing high-quality customer service and maintenance of records using APVMA databases;
  • Writing of detailed reports, briefs and minutes; and/or
  • Completing administrative-based tasks in accordance with the team’s workflow requirements.

While positions offered will vary based on availability at the time, selection panels will be looking for exceptional time management skills, a demonstrated high degree of accuracy and attention to detail and proven written communication. The ability to liaise effectively and professionally with staff, clients and service providers will also be regarded highly.

In addition to administrative positions, the register is also open to applications from candidates who are looking for employment in areas including our scientific assessment and review programs, Governance, Corporate Services and Legal. 

Roles provide generous pay, 15.4% superannuation and the ability to accrue flex time.
