Editorial & Production Manager - EL 1

The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) is an independent Commonwealth statutory authority responsible for the regulation of broadcasting, radiocommunications, telecommunications and some online content.

This work underpins our vision for a connected, informed and entertained Australia.

About the role

This is your opportunity to shape how the ACMA communicates with the world. In this role, you’ll lead a team that provides expert editorial, design, and production services—bringing clarity, creativity, and consistency to everything we publish. You’ll be the go-to advisor on style, writing, editing and design, while managing relationships with contractors and agencies to deliver polished, professional outputs.

Your work will span high-profile projects, including leading the editing, design and production of the ACMA annual report, coordinating major publications including corporate plans, consultation and research papers, and web content.

You’ll also oversee the creation of engaging visual content—graphic design, video, animation, and infographics—and produce marketing collateral such as displays and merchandise.

Beyond delivery, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and evolving our in-house visual and editorial style, ensuring accessibility standards are met across all channels.

You’ll champion editorial excellence across all ACMA publications, ensuring content adheres to the Australian Government Style Manual and reflects industry leading principles for web content and report writing, including meeting relevant accessibility standards.

A key part of the role involves working closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation to shape content that meets strategic objectives. You’ll need to confidently advocate for best-practice communication approaches, provide constructive feedback, and assertively guide stakeholders to ensure outputs are effective and audience-focused.

You’ll lead and mentor a high-performing team, supporting their professional development and building their capability. You’ll also play a crucial role in educating staff across the ACMA on communication best practices for external publications and content, contributing to the development of communication strategies that amplify our impact.
