About the role:

As the Data Analyst, Online Learning, you'll provide insights into online student behaviour driven by analysis of internal and external data for the online course offerings at ACU. You'll have the opportunity to translate analytical findings into practical intervention strategies to enhance the experience and success of online students. You will ensure that insights derived from analysis are put into practical use, this will require working closely with internal stakeholders, translating findings from analysis for non-technical audiences, demonstrating passion for both data and the student experience. You will work closely with the wider Centre for Education & Innovation team, to provide the data and insights that drive our continual improvement cycle. This role will influence operations across the organisation to drive quality student experience, improve retention and establish an evaluation plan for our ACU Online offerings.

More specifically the role entails:

  • Leveraging Banner (student administration), Canvas LMS (learning and teaching) and Explorance Blue (survey and evaluation) data to generate insights designed to improve the quality of ACU's online educational offerings.
  • Application of data science knowledge and skills within ACU's Microsoft and Oracle driven enterprise data environment (PowerBI, SQL etc.).
  • Stakeholder engagement and communication about data and analytics requirements, progression of analytics projects, and, the interpretation of data and reporting products produced by the team.
  • Understanding the key quality assurance frameworks and processes associated with ACU's online educational products.

  • Total remuneration valued to $130,436 - $145,816 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $110,220 - $123,227 (pro rata) pa (HEW 8), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
  • 17% employer superannuation contributions to eligible continuing and fixed-term staff.
  • Annual leave loading of an equivalent to 17.5% of four weeks' salary pro rata payable, dependent on your commencement date.
