About the role:

The National School is seeking to appoint an experienced academic with a demonstrated capacity of successful, dynamic leadership to the role of State Head of NSW. As a key leadership role within the faculty, you will work collaboratively with the National Head of School to ensure overall coherence of state-based operations with the strategic priorities of the National School of Education and the university.

As the State Head of NSW, you'll be assisted by two Deputy State Heads, oversees academic staff on ACU's Strathfield, Blacktown and North Sydney campuses within the wider context of a National School of Education. You will lead staff and build their capability, in ways that enhance and deliver upon the local and national priorities including, but not limited to, high quality teaching, research, service, curriculum innovation, student experience, Professional Experience Placements and stakeholder partnerships.

The position represents the National School within its local state through strategic partnerships and collaborations with other agencies, educational institutions, external communities and stakeholders. What we offer:

  • Total remuneration valued to $190,982 - $210,230 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $161,830 - $178,282 (pro rata) pa (Academic Level D), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading or total remuneration valued to $245,535 - $245,535 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $208,457 (pro rata) pa (Academic Level E Increment 1), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading. The level of appointment will be determined based on the level of experience, skills and capability of the successful candidate. The assignment of State Head, School of Education attracts a higher duties allowance of $22,000 per annum.
  • 17% employer superannuation contributions to eligible continuing and fixed-term staff.
  • Annual leave loading of an equivalent to 17.5% of four weeks' salary pro rata payable, dependent on your commencement date.
