About the role:
As Associate Professor / Professor of Nursing you will provide leadership and make outstanding and original contributions to research and scholarship and teaching to enhance the student's experience and life.
In this joint appointment between Australian Catholic University and Metro North Health, the Associate Professor / Professor will contribute to the governance and collegial life of the Faculty of Health Sciences and The Prince Charles Hospital, builds relationships with external organisations and related communities, and contibutes to clinical research within the hospital.
Collaborating with the Faculty's School of Nursing, Midwifery and Paramedicine and The Prince Charles Hospital, the role will focus on the development of relevant research and scholarship and lead a research program centred on health services priorities, with a key focus on the translation of evidence into clinical practice with the overall goal of improving patient outcomes and health systems.
The Associate Professor / Professor of Nursing will work between two base locations at ACU's Brisbane (Banyo) campus and the Prince Charles Hospital at Chermside.
About you:
ACU and The Prince Charles Hospital are looking for a Associate Professor / Professor of Nursing who holds:
- A doctoral qualification in Nursing or equivalent.
- Current registration in AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
- Proven expertise in producing high quality publications and competitive grants, incuding co-authored publications.
- Demonstrated experience working on research and clinical projects, including the academic supervison of students.
- A signifciant academic profile and research profile in higher education.
In addition, you should be able to:
- Think strategically and possess high-level communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrate a commitment to academic and research excellence.
- Have strong negotiating skills and the business acumen to foster and lead innovative improvement ventures.
- Well-developed soft skills to nurture, mentor, coach, lead and foster individuals and teams so they reach their full potential.

What we offer:

- Professor (Level E): Total remuneration valued to $260,037 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $220,723 (pro rata) pa (Academic Level E Increment 1), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
Associate Professor (Level D): Total remuneration valued to $202,272 - $222,654 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $171,352 - $188,772 (pro rata) pa (Academic Level E Increment 1), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
- 17% employer superannuation contributions to eligible continuing and fixed-term staff.
- Annual leave loading of an equivalent to 17.5% of four weeks' salary pro rata payable, dependent on your commencement date.
