About the role:

We are seeking to appoint an Associate Professor (Clinical Bioethics) on a part-time, continuing basis to lead and contribute to an international clinical research network focused on end-of-life care, including ethical issues in palliative care and voluntary assisted dying.

More specifically the role entails:

  • Overseeing a clinical research network focused on palliative care ethics and the implementation of voluntary assisted dying in Australia and globally.
  • Conducting leading research in different areas of end-of-life care, including palliative care ethics, psycho-oncology ethics, advance care directives, medical futility, sedation, and VAD
  • Assist with the dissemination of research in end-of-life care ethics.

  • Total remuneration valued to $191,064 - $210,313(pro rata) pa, including salary component $161,830 - $178,282 (pro rata) pa (Academic Level D), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
  • 17% employer superannuation contributions to eligible continuing and fixed-term staff.
  • Annual leave loading of an equivalent to 17.5% of four weeks' salary pro rata payable, dependent on your commencement date.
