About the role:

As the Lecturer/Senior Lecturer, you will contribute to and support the development of the Ancient Israel Program (AIP) at ACU through recognised expertise and experience in the Archaeology of Ancient Israel. You will provide disciplinary leadership and direction in the areas of unit design, coordination and delivery (including an annual archaeological field school), academic administration and build research capacity in the AIP including supervision of honours and Higher Degree Research students. You'll conduct and publish high-quality research in leading outlets, that enhances the university's reputation for research excellence in the humanities or embeds the use of current disciplinary research in teaching and curriculum and also facilitate student engagement in research, encourage inquiry-based learning and develop student understanding of research culture and skills within the discipline. The position will also support the Director of the AIP in collaboration with ACU Advancement+ to increase the donor base for the AIP and related initiatives.

  • Total remuneration valued to $134,709 - $158,885 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $113,831 - $134,397 (pro rata) pa (Academic Level B) or total remuneration valued to $162,426 - $176,346 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $137,470 - $149,367 (pro rata) pa (Academic Level C). The level of appointment will be determined based on the level of experience, skills and capability of the successful candidate.
  • 17% employer superannuation contributions to eligible continuing and fixed-term staff.
  • Annual leave loading of an equivalent to 17.5% of four weeks' salary pro rata payable, dependent on your commencement date.
