About the role:

As Statistician you will be responsible for contributing to the design, undertaking data analysis and reporting of multiple clinical research projects conducted by the Nursing Research Institute (NRI). You will also will also advise and perform standard and advanced statistical analysis for multiple state, national and international research projects including (but not limited to) observational studies, randomised trials and studies using routinely collected hospital data.

More specifically the role entails:

  • Performing statistical analysis for national and international research under limited supervision either as a member of the team or independently to achieve the objectives of the program of health services research including (but not limited to) analyses for observational studies, randomised trials and studies using routinely collected hospital data.
  • Providing specialist input into the methodological aspects of study design and statistical analysis methods for multiple observational studies and randomised trials as part of on-going studies and competitive grant applications.
  • Assisting in the preparation of material, including graphical and tabular presentations, for peer review manuscripts, reports, meetings, publications and seminars as appropriate with superior attention to detail.
  • Providing statistical advice and assistance where appropriate on questionnaire design, data management, statistical software, and methods of analysis to project leaders and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Work effectively in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including University and healthcare partners, multi-disciplinary researchers and research participants, to discuss and evaluate relevant statistical analyses locally and internationally.

  • Total remuneration valued to $125,722 - $140,551 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $106,237 - $118,773 (pro rata) pa (HEW 8), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.

  • Annual leave loading of an equivalent to 17.5% of four weeks' salary pro rata payable, dependent on your commencement date.
