About the role:

As the Deputy Head of Ballarat and Regional VIC, you will have the opportunity to provide dynamic academic leadership in the National School of Education. You will support the National Head of the School of Education to effectively coordinate, communicate and implement the Faculty/University strategic priorities to revitalise and strengthen ACU's profile through the establishment of networks with key stakeholders in teacher education. There will be a key focus on business development and innovation to ensure effective and quality stakeholder engagement to promote sustainable revenue generation and revenue diversification initiatives aligned with the Faculty's strategic plan.

More specifically the role entails:

  • Working collegially with the National School and Faculty executive teams to support the implementation of the University's strategic priorities
  • Developing and growing partnerships with key stakeholders, communities and special interest groups in teacher education to optimize revenue generating and revenue diversification opportunities and initiatives in the region
  • Leading the academic team in the Ballarat campus and facilitating the development of staff in their scholarship of learning and teaching
  • Contributing to the achievement of the Faculty's financial performance by effectively managing the campus budget and resources
  • Ensuring quality delivery of the Faculty's education programs to foster positive student learning experiences, maintain high student retention and enrolments
  • Fostering a work environment that promotes academic enthusiasm, innovation, research excellence and supports a culture of inclusiveness and collegiality amongst academic and professional staff
  • Teaching in general education units within the workload allocation
  • Successful candidate must be willing to work from Ballarat Campus

What we offer:

  • Total remuneration valued to $162,426 - $176,346 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $137,470 - $149,367 (pro rata) pa (Academic Level C), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading Total remuneration valued to $184,083 - $202,637 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $155,980 - $171,838 (pro rata) pa (Academic Level D), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading. The assignment of Deputy Head, Ballarat attracts a Higher Duty allowance of $7,500 p.a.
  • 17% employer superannuation contributions to eligible continuing and fixed-term staff. The level of appointment will be determined based on the level of experience, skills and capability of the successful candidate.
  • Annual leave loading of an equivalent to 17.5% of four weeks' salary pro rata payable, dependent on your commencement date.
