About the role:

As the Lecturer you will have the opportunity to undertake quality research and contribute to excellence in teaching and learning within the Law discipline, participating in community engagement and advances the standing of the Thomas More Law School nationally. This role has a teaching and research focus and may be focussed on areas of Foundations of Law and Legal Research, Contracts, Torts, Property, Statutory Interpretation, Evidence, Legal Ethics and Prof Responsibility, International Law, Administrative Law, Public Law, Land Law, Civil Procedure and ADR, Constitutional Law, Equity and Trusts and Legal Theory.

More specifically the role entails:

  • Coordination and successful delivery of core subjects in the Thomas More Law School's curricula.
  • Development of a clear and compelling agenda for research and research productivity.
  • Coordination of core subjects and associated administrative activities associated with teaching.
  • Development of new subjects as directed.
  • Undertake training in use of new technologies to enhance teaching.

You will need to have:

  • A PhD and/or an LLM (Research).
  • Substantial experience teaching core subjects in a law program.
  • Experience coordinating law subjects with significant enrolments.
  • Experience in legal practice.
  • Knowledge of areas of the law of contemporary relevance and significance.
  • A clear and compelling research agenda.
  • Experience using technology to create engaging teaching environments.

  • Total remuneration valued to $126,304 - $149,020 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $106,728 - $126,011 (pro rata) pa (Academic Level B), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
  • 17% employer superannuation contributions to eligible continuing and fixed-term staff (we provide choice of fund in accordance with relevant legislation, with the University's nominated default superannuation provider as UniSuper).
  • Annual leave loading of an equivalent to 17.5% of four weeks' salary pro rata payable, dependent on your commencement date.
