Overview of the team

The Data Operations and Products function is located within the Office of the Chief Data and Analytics Officer (OCDAO) at Comcare. The function provides specialist reporting and analytics capability to the organisation as well as acting as a data ‘front door’ for requests raised by stakeholders across Comcare.

Our work supports evidence-based decision making and provides insight into emerging risks and trends to support Comcare’s purpose of promoting and enabling safe and healthy work.

Overview of the role

As the Assistant Director, Data Operations, you will lead a team responsible for the key reporting requirements and continuous improvement in data-related processes. You will oversee business as usual (BAU) reporting, periodic statutory reporting, and the operational management of business intelligence platforms. This position will also require the maintenance and development of new and existing BI reports where necessary.

This position requires strong people leadership skills, problem solving skills, coupled with technical expertise to manage critical data and reporting processes in OCDAO’s overall service provision. You will work closely with key stakeholders to also respond to internal and external requests requiring data and analysis outcomes and internal technical teams to support our analytics capability uplift.

Desirable qualifications and experience

  • Recognised tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. business, statistics, information technology) from an Australian tertiary institution or a comparable overseas institution or demonstrated equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 2+ years’ experience in the delivery of enterprise data and analytics products.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and leading high-performing teams.

Eligibility and specific conditions of employment

  1. Australian citizenship.
  2. Character clearance (Australian Criminal History Check).
  3. Employee health declaration.
  4. Six months probationary period for new engagements.
  5. Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance.
