About the register

Comcare maintains a Claims Management Temporary Employment Register to identify and engage skilled individuals for non-ongoing (temporary) positions across the Claims Management Group. This register allows us to quickly connect with applicants who bring relevant experience and capability to support our work in a range of APS Level 2 to APS Level 6 positions.

These positions are offered on a non-ongoing basis for a specified term of up to 18 months, depending on operational needs. Non-ongoing contracts may be issued for an initial period of up to 12 months, with the option to extend to a maximum of 18 months. Please note that non-ongoing contracts can only be extended once, regardless of the duration.

  • Positions offered through this register are temporary only and do not lead to ongoing employment or promotion under the Public Service Act 1999.
  • You may be contacted if a position arises that aligns with your skills, experience and availability.
  • Registration on the register records your interest in working at Comcare. It does not guarantee a position becoming available or an offer of non-ongoing employment.
  • Applications will remain active until Friday, 18 December 2025. After this date, you will need to reapply to be considered for future opportunities.

About the Claims Management Group 

The Claims Management Group is responsible for delivering Comcare’s claims management services, supporting individuals through challenging periods in their lives. Our work is both rewarding and impactful. We assist people in their recovery and return to work, making a meaningful difference to their wellbeing, their employers, and the broader community.

Diverse positions within Claims Management

Claims Management offers a variety of positions across multiple disciplines, including:

  • Operational such as Claims Managers and supporting, working directly with claimants and performing administrative and case management tasks.
  • Governance, project management and strategic support.
  • Data, analytics and financial.
  • Contract management, procurement and administrative.

Positions may involve a mix of operational and administrative tasks, with duties determined by the classification level and specific role requirements. Positions are offered for varying periods of up to 18 months, based on operational needs.

To be eligible for temporary employment at Comcare, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Be an Australian citizen or going to be granted Australian citizenship before commencement. You will be asked to provide evidence.
  2. Successfully undergo a character clearance (Australian Criminal History Check).
  3. May be required to undergo a medical examination conducted by the agencies preferred medical supplier.
  4. Be willing and eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance to the appropriate level if applicable to the position.
  5. Be able to provide proof of qualifications if applicable to the position.
