Overview of the Team

The Regulatory Operations Group (ROG) has responsibility for achieving safer and healthier workplaces within its jurisdiction. As an effective national regulator, it does this by promoting continuous improvements in work health, safety and rehabilitation practices and monitoring and compliance with the law. Using a contemporary risk-based approach, the Group plans and implements an integrated program of continuous improvement and compliance activities to target issues or entities across the jurisdiction that pose the most significant risk to health and safety of workers. 

The Regulatory Performance team supports the ROG and is responsible for conducting internal reviews and assurance activities, strategic and operational planning and reporting activities, maintaining an informative and effective Group intranet (ROG HUB) site, providing oversight and reporting on ROG budgeting and staffing matters, managing Comcare’s regulatory case management system, the delivery of ROG workforce planning, operational design and business improvement activities and the enhancement of ROG’s capability through the management of key projects and staff development activities.

Overview of the Role

The Senior Regulatory Performance Officer is part of a small multidisciplinary team focussed on Strategy and Governance activities that support the ROG. The role is responsible for the delivery of Group business planning, strategic and operational reporting, monitoring operational and enterprise risk, project and program management including group governance, the assurance framework and assurance activities. The Senior Regulatory Performance Officer, reports to the Assistant Director, Strategy and Governance.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Desirable:
    • Experience in an enabling role in a law enforcement, regulatory (Work Health and Safety or other), or compliance environment is desirable. 

Eligibility and Specific Conditions of Employment

  1. Australian citizenship.
  2. Character clearance (Australian Criminal History Check).
  3. Employee Health Declaration.
  4. Six months probationary period for new engagements.
  5. Specific Conditions:
    • Some travel may be required, including overnight absences (expected to be limited in nature – 1 or 2 times per annum)
