Eligibility and specific conditions of employment
- Australian citizenship
- Character clearance (police records check)
- Health assessment
- 12 months probationary period
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance
- Completion of at least an Australian Qualifications Framework Level 7 qualification (a Bachelor degree), or equivalent by 31 December 2023
- Completion of the most recent eligible qualification between 1 January 2019 to 31 December 2023
- If your degree is from an overseas university, the Department of Education must recognise the qualification. You must present documentation to validate recognition of your overseas qualification along with your application to be considered
- Located or to be able to relocate to Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane or Darwin based on the location of the position offered
- For Work Health and Safety Inspector Graduates:

- Satisfactory completion of the Graduate Development Program and Regulatory Practice Essentials Course.
- Some intra and interstate travel is required.
Overview of Roles
Work Health and Safety Inspector Graduates – (Canberra/Sydney/Melbourne/Brisbane or Darwin)
The Work Health and Safety (WHS) Inspector Graduates will sit within the Regional Operations team in Regulatory Operations Group (ROG).
The Regional Operations Team is the service delivery arm of ROG and administers the Work, Health and Safety Act 2011 (WHS Act) through a variety of prevention, compliance and enforcement activities. Services are delivered across the country through employees working in regional offices in QLD, NSW, VIC, TAS, SA, NT, WA and ACT.
As a WHS Inspector Graduate, you will be,
- providing assistance to Inspectors and investigators in undertaking workplace inspections, conducting criminal WHS investigations, and delivering proactive information and advice activities.
- undertaking and successfully completing Regulatory Practice Essentials Course.
These roles also might require you to do some intra and interstate travel for work.
Information Technology Graduate (Canberra)
The Information Technology (IT) Graduate role will sit within The Technology and Information Management Unit which maintains Comcare’s Information, Communication and Technology infrastructure and provides strategic leadership, governance, solutions and advice for the effective management of information.
As the IT Graduate, you will get to work on designing, delivering, managing and protecting technology solutions and services that underpin the Comcare’s operations.
Your work in the IT stream could include:
- Designing the systems around verifiable data and information including managing information through its lifecycle, from creation, to discovery, to matching
- Cyber threat intelligence
- IT and cyber security
- IT Strategy and Architecture
- IT service management
- IT infrastructure and networks
- Technology portfolio and asset management
- Sourcing, vendor and contract management.
Human Resources Graduate (Canberra or Melbourne)
The Human Resources Graduate role will sit within the People, Property and Security team.
The successful graduate may have the opportunity to work across a range of people functions such as Payroll, Recruitment, Employee and Workplace Relations, Work Health & Safety, People Analytics, Learning and Development and People Strategy.
