Team and Role Overview

The Scheme Policy and Design team is situated in Comcare’s Scheme Management Group and has responsibility for the management of Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 (SRC Act) scheme related issues across the Comcare scheme. We work with various stakeholders to develop and communicate policy positions and guidance to support legislative interpretation and change, and to support the claims management process.  

This position plays an important role in:

  • providing sound policy advice and guidance regarding the operation of the SRC Act and identifying best practice reforms;
  • preparing draft briefs and meeting papers on policy issues for stakeholder meetings; 
  • researching, developing and communicating scheme-wide policy guidance and other information on the application of the SRC Act; and 
  • responding to stakeholder queries. 

Other responsibilities of this position include day to day management of the scheme policy helpdesk, providing high level support to Comcare’s stakeholder engagement activities on policy related issues and project coordination support for legislative interpretation and change implementation activities.
