The National Regulatory Projects team is responsible for the design, delivery and review of programs targeting high risk hazards and industries nationally including but not limited to psychosocial risk and major infrastructure projects. The team is part of the service delivery arm of Regulatory Operations Group (ROG) that administers the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (WHS Act) through a variety of prevention, assurance and enforcement activities. This is a new team, and you will be involved in developing a psychologically safe team culture, working with other team members across Australia. 

Ideally, you will have qualifications and experience in mental health with an understanding of workplace mental health issues (for example psychology, workplace rehabilitation, occupational therapy, social work).

You will have the skills to work cooperatively with high-level stakeholders to facilitate compliance with psychosocial risk management laws; the ability to work in a team of people with varying backgrounds; and the drive to achieve best practice in psychosocial risk regulation for mentally healthier workplaces.

You will support inspection and investigation teams, be involved in development of guidance material and training for workplace health and safety inspectors, organisations regulated by Comcare, and other stakeholders. You may present at conferences and otherwise represent Comcare at various forums.

You will have the ability, skills and knowledge to be involved in programs and initiatives that are often technically complex, politically sensitive and of significant strategic importance.

You will be supported in the role to gain an understanding of the workplace health and safety inspection and investigation environment at a commonwealth level, gaining a Diploma in Government (Workplace Health and Safety).
