Temporary Employment Register – Claims Management & support roles
(APS Level 3, APS Level 4, APS Level 5)

Comcare manages worker’s compensation claims from Commonwealth employees in line with the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 (SRC Act). We work closely with scheme employers and employees to minimise the impact of harm in the workplace and improve recovery at work and return to work. We also manage the Commonwealth’s asbestos-related claims liabilities through the Asbestos-related Claims (Management of Commonwealth Liabilities) Act 2005 (ARC Act).

The Comcare Temporary Employment Register – Claims Management and support roles, is open for candidates to register their interest for the below roles to perform short-term contracts up to 12 months depending on operation requirements.

1. The Claims Administration Officer (APS3) provides administrative support to the Claims Operations team and its management of workers’ compensation claims. As part of a team, the role provides administration support in line with the claim’s management strategy including the achievement of claims management targets. 

2. The Claims Support Officer (APS4) supports claims management activities. As part of a team, this role supports the preparation of claim decision documents including research, analysis and drafting. In addition, the role supports maintaining claim records, completing claims management system transactions, and coordinating meetings for claim stakeholders.

3. The Claims Manager (APS5) is responsible for the management of workers’ compensation claims. As part of a team, Claims Managers have responsibility for medium to low risk compensation claims including engagement with claimants, employers and treating practitioners to achieve return to health and work outcomes.

4. The Instructing Officer (APS5) works as part of the Reconsiderations & Appeals team with responsibility for the management of Administrative Appeals tribunal litigation related to workers’ compensation claims.
