The Department of the House of Representatives is seeking applications from those interested in directly supporting the work of the House of Representatives and members of Parliament at Parliament House in Canberra.

About the role

The Administrative Support Officer will support the Parliament, have demonstrated ability to work in a small team with limited supervision, operate a range of specialised ICT applications and possess knowledge of parliamentary procedure or the capacity to develop this quickly. 

This role:

provides administrative support to the Serjeant-at-Arms' Office; including responding to general inquiries in person, by email and telephone (Microsoft Teams)

operates and maintains relevant parliamentary ICT systems and databases, particularly those relating to operations of the office, including school bookings

makes question time and committee room bookings

maintains Members' information

issues stamp allocations to Members

processes office invoices 

processes departmental gift shop orders and maintains records

assists in issuing keys to suites

processes maintenance requests

assists other areas of the Serjeant-at-Arms' Office as required, including stores requests
