Digital Earth Australia (DEA) is a program of Geoscience Australia. It’s our mission to embed satellite imagery and data into decisions that support a sustainable Australian environment, a resilient society, and a strong economy.

DEA makes more than 30 years of landscape imagery and data from US and European satellites freely available for Australians to see on interactive maps, to download, and to access via web tools and services. We process and provide national-scale imagery and products which reveal how our lands, waters, coasts and environments have changed over time.

We equip government, industry and communities with organised, analysis ready data and high-performance computing infrastructure, unlocking the value of satellite observations for planning, monitoring and problem solving.

As a scientist within the DEA program, you will be working to deliver on the objectives of the DEA Strategy by developing innovative products and services for our stakeholders. You will apply scientific thinking to national problems, such as the effects of a changing climate, and produce information derived from Earth observation which will help government and industry tackle these challenges.

You will work as part of a talented team to bring your experience and skill to develop solutions on high performance and/or cloud computation environments.  You will also have the ability to undertake innovation to support the program, and work with other subject matter experts to continue to evolve the application of Earth observation data for the benefit of Australians.
