To continue to deliver for our community, we are seeking a supervisor to lead the Roads and Drainage Maintenance team in delivering high quality civil infrastructure maintenance works in the north of Golden Plains Shire. 

This role will provide you the opportunity to:

  • Plan, organise and coordinate work programs in line with Council plans, policies and procedures.
  • Establish rolling work programs to ensure proactive maintenance of Council’s roads and drainage assets.
  • Supervise road maintenance and drainage work to ensure compliance with plans, specifications and standards.
  • Create and maintain a culture that supports high levels of staff engagement, safety, respect and collaboration.
  • Ensure plant and fleet are utilised effectively to deliver quality outcomes and maximise output and usage.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated capability to lead a team of construction or outdoor labour employees ensuring they are provided the training, direction, feedback and support needed to create a high-performing and collaborative team culture.
  • Commitment and experience in applying Occupational Health Safety and Risk Management principles in a similar work environment and an understanding of employer and employee obligations. 
  • Experience in engineering construction practice in sealed and gravel road construction, road and bridge maintenance, and drainage maintenance.
  • Ability to plan and coordinate the resources, materials, equipment and delivery of high-quality short and long-term work programs within budget and time constraints.
  • Commitment to delivering high quality customer experience within a construction or works environment.
