WE ARE RECRUTING A FAMILY DAY CARE CONTRACTOR (LETHBRIDGE)

We are seeking expressions of interest from qualified Early Childhood Educators to run a family day care program from the newly renovated Lethbridge Cricket Club Pavilion at 8 Stevenson Street, Lethbridge. The facility is centrally located in Lethbridge and is walking distance to the local school, public park and Lethbridge lake. The Lethbridge Cricket Pavilion is also a short drive to Bannockburn, providing many opportunities to get involved in the local community of Lethbridge and surrounds.

ABOUT FAMILY DAY CARE

Family Day Care Educators are early childhood education and care professionals, responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of quality, early childhood programs. Educators provide care in small group settings, from the educators home or an approved in-venue location and work within the requirements of the National Quality Framework.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Responsible for the planning and implementation of quality, culturally responsive and developmentally based program that reflects the children’s needs.
  • Responsible for implementation of the National Quality Framework for Early Childhood Education and Care.
  • Complete detailed developmental observations of each child and use as a basis for individual and group programming.
  • Deliver a program that meets the individual needs of the families using the service and is based on current early childhood research and practice and is in accordance with relevant policy, legislative and best practice frameworks.
  • Ensure the grounds and equipment (relevant to FDC delivery) are maintained to a high standard of safety, cleanliness and repair.
  • Accountable for ensuring programs that consider and provide a safe and secure environment for all children including: all aspects related to Child Safe standards, Reportable Conduct and Mandatory Reporting.
  • Consistently support families to participate in the service, make meaningful contributions to decisions, and share in decision making about their child’s learning and wellbeing.
  • Ensure each child’s access, inclusion and participation in the program by learning about their individual context (family circumstances, geographic location, cultural and linguistic experiences) as well as their interests, learning styles, strengths and abilities.

YOU WILL HAVE:

  • Experience working with families and children.
  • Minimum qualification of Certificate III Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent).

* Successful applicants for the Family Day Care Educators role are required to have PRODA registration.  This is an online identity authentication obtained through Services Australia.  Prior registration is not required. 

** Please note that National Police Check results that are suitable for this position will be provided at Educator/Contractor owns expense and must be through Family Day Care Australia. 

*** Family Day Care Educators are contracted to Golden Plains Shire Council. Educator contracts are renewed every 12 months.
