To continue to deliver for our community, we are seeking a motivated person to join our Town Maintenance team, who will carry out maintenance to parks and recreation facilities in the Shire.

  • This role will provide you the opportunity to:
  • Carry out open space, parks, landscape and township maintenance activities as directed by the Team Leader 
  • Carry out environmental reserve maintenance activities, including but not limited to flora and fauna management as directed by the Team leader 
  • Assist in community engagement activities 
  • Assist other employees with parks, recreation and environment maintenance activities. 
  • Engage with the community on a general day to day basis in a positive and polite manner 
  • Operate plant in a competent, safe and efficient manner to carry out allocated tasks. 
  • Carry out daily and routine maintenance of plant and equipment including but not limited to, pre-start checks, greasing, cleaning and general basic maintenance. Ensure that equipment used is fuelled and ready to operate the next day before leaving work each day. 
  • Ensure all works and work sites comply with traffic management, public safety and occupational health and safety standards at all times. 

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Cert III in Parks related qualifications (i.e. Horticulture/Arboriculture/Conservation and Land Management/Landscaping) or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through practical experience. 
  • Construction Industry Induction (White Card) 
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing high quality community-focused outcomes. 
  • Experience in plant operation and maintenance. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team or independently. 
  • A strong knowledge of OHS practices and a commitment to supporting a culture that promotes OHS.
