Haileybury is seeking an exceptional educator to be appointed to the role of Head of Senior School (Keysborough), commencing January 2027. The successful candidate will work closely with the Deputy Principal Head of Senior Schools to deliver education excellence. This is a permanent Classroom Teacher position with a five-year leadership tenure, incorporating a generous time and financial allowance. 

The Head of Senior School (Keysborough) is an integral part of the Senior School Executive Team, providing strategic and purposeful leadership to staff and students.  

Key Responsibilities  

As the Head of Senior School (Keysborough) you will: 

• Lead a positive, inclusive culture that fosters community, connection and excellence. 
• Lead best practice in teaching, learning, pastoral care and contemporary wellbeing. 
• Inspire and empower students and staff to achieve their best. 
• Oversee student academic progress and outcomes, driving Education Excellence. 
• Lead, support and develop a highly professional, collaborative and effective staff team. 
• Oversee day-to-day operations, maintaining high standards of culture, conduct and learning. 
• Build strong relationships across the School community and actively contribute to School events and initiatives. 
• Collaborate with Senior School Heads and Teaching & Learning and Wellbeing leaders to support continuous improvement. 

About You  

At Haileybury, we are seeking brilliant teachers. We are looking for a team member who has the following: 

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and current VIT registration. 
• Significant leadership experience in an educational setting, with outstanding classroom teaching experience. 
• Strong knowledge of curriculum development, assessment, reporting, pastoral care and school operations. 
• Demonstrated ability to lead cohesive, effective teams and contribute to senior leadership. 
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with staff, students and parents. 
• Ability to lead innovation, manage complex pastoral matters and drive continuous improvement. 
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and meet deadlines. 
• Strong understanding of contemporary teaching and learning theory and practice. 
• Experience working with children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds.
