The Position: 

Due to the continued growth of the College, we are seeking a Full Time Design and Technology - Woodwork Teacher to join our Team. This role will be based at our Werribee campus. This position 

This position of Secondary Woodwork Teacher will  have the ability to apply for Permission to Teach, without Teaching qualifications or VIT registration. The ideal candidate will be a woodwork specialist with a passion to effectively teach, engage and educate young people. Our Christ-centered education is paramount to helping our students to grow and develop by providing a deep and rich learning experience for our students.

 

Key Responsibilities:

A. Leadership

- To teach with the current Curriculum from years 7 – 12 in the area of Woodwork 

- Display leadership skills.

- Display and work as part of a team. 

 

B. Specialist Skills

- To include and encourage the Design & Technology approach in education and the teaching.  

- Experience and knowledge in Woodwork.

- Experience and knowledge in Furniture Making.

- Is able to convey the relevant problem solving request to the appropriate year level. 

- Strong understanding of Occupational, Health and Safety to ensure safety is upheld at all times.

The successful candidate must have: 

 

· Teaching degree with relevant woodwork qualifications or someone who is currently studying their teaching degree who has relevant woodwork experience or qualifications. 

· A commitment to Christian Education and the College’s Ethos, as presented in the College’s Theological Statement

· The ability to create a positive student culture for deep learning and teaching

· A mindset to utilise technology for the purpose of teaching effectively, updating systems, reporting, student feedback and academic progress.  

· Embrace opportunities to grow and develop professionally with the College

· Adhere to College policies, procedures, and practices.
