The Role
This position is part of a multi-disciplined team responsible for the construction and maintenance of Council’s infrastructure assets. This hands-on role involves operating and maintaining trucks exceeding 15 tonnes GVM, and performing general labouring duties which includes pipe laying, concreting and general maintenance and safety operating small machinery and hand tools ensuring safe work practices are followed at all times.
We are seeking a dedicated Truck Driver/Labourer who is passionate about contributing to their local community and values teamwork, safety, collaboration, and service to the community. Join our Urban Operations team and help maintain and improve essential infrastructure across the Capricorn region.
For this role, candidates must successfully complete in a Functional Capacity Evaluation and be willing to be vaccinated against Hepatitis A&B and Tetanus.
What We’re Looking For
- A current MR Class driver licence and Construction Industry Induction (White Card);
- Experience in truck operation and civil construction tasks;
- Strong commitment to safety and teamwork;
- Ability to read and follow instructions, complete basic reports, and communicate effectively; and
- Willingness to work in outdoor environments and undertake physically demanding tasks.
