The Role
Council is seeking an experienced Coordinator Technical Services to join our Transport and Utilities portfolio to lead specialist technical delivery across civil infrastructure operations.
Lead a dedicated team, foster a supportive, customer-focused culture, and ensure quality, compliance, safety and community outcomes.
Reporting to the Manager Civil Works, this position will:
- Lead and mentor the Technical Services Team, instilling a high performing, customer centric culture.
- Manage statutory and self assessable approval processes for civil infrastructure maintenance and construction.
- Conduct specialist engineering assessments—covering traffic and transport related matters such as speed limit reviews, road safety audits, heavy vehicle permits, and roadside hazard reviews.
- Guide asset management functions: condition assessments, hazard identification, maintenance planning and renewal submissions for capital budgets.
- Carry out inspections/investigations across the Transport & Utilities portfolio.
- Develop and implement Quality Assurance systems and align policies, processes, and procedures with administrative, technical, and quality objectives.

Mandatory Requirements to be successful in this position:
- Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent;
- Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) or suitable to become registered;
- Substantial experience in Local Government engineering;
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to mentor staff, coordinate team efforts, and achieve targeted outcomes;
- Construction Industry (white card); and
- Possess and maintain a current motor vehicle driver licence.
