We’re seeking a skilled Coordinator Development Engineering to lead our Development Engineering Team in delivering safe, sustainable, and future-focused development outcomes. In this pivotal role, you’ll provide expert technical guidance, strategic oversight, and operational leadership in the assessment and coordination of development-related infrastructure. You’ll ensure all engineering outcomes align with Council’s planning instruments, community aspirations, and long-term asset strategies.

You’ll also be skilled in mentoring and leadership with a strong demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative culture across internal teams and external stakeholders.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Leading and managing the Development Engineering Team to deliver efficient and high-quality infrastructure assessments and approvals.
  • Providing technical direction and ensuring engineering solutions are sustainable, safe, and aligned with Council’s policies and standards.
  • Driving continuous improvement in workflows, service delivery, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Supporting strategic planning initiatives by aligning engineering assessment with broader infrastructure and land-use objectives.
  • Building strong relationships with developers, consultants, and internal teams to enable practical, future-ready outcomes.

What You'll Bring:

  • A Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent tertiary qualification, and/or significant experience in a similar development engineering or infrastructure leadership role.
  • Proven success leading technical teams and managing performance within a regulatory, planning, or infrastructure delivery context.
  • Extensive experience in civil engineering, particularly in development assessment, planning, design, and delivery of urban infrastructure.
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant legislation, planning instruments, and engineering standards within a local government environment.
  • Proficiency in Council’s corporate systems and engineering-related software.
