About the role
Livingstone Shire Council is offering an exciting opportunity to combine your passion for disaster management with the idyllic lifestyle of a stunning coastal region. We are currently seeking a suitably qualified professional to take on the pivotal role of Coordinator Disaster Management and Community Resilience.
In this leadership position, you will be instrumental in managing the operational functions of Council’s Disaster Management and Community Resilience. This includes serving as the Local Disaster Coordinator and leading a dynamic team dedicated to ensuring the safety, preparedness, and resilience of our community.
Your ability to engage and build strong working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders will be key to your success. With your extensive expertise in emergency management, disaster risk, resilience, and recovery, you will help drive proactive solutions and strengthen community preparedness.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Emergency Management/Disaster Risk/Resilience and Recover and/or high level discipline knowledge together with extensive relevant experience to perform the responsibilities of the position.
- Experience in managing, leading and developing a team.
- Possess and maintain a current motor vehicle drivers licence.
