Horticulture Trainee (Certificate III Horticulture - 2 years)

If you enjoy working outdoors, have a genuine interest in gardening and plants and keen to learn more, then completing this 2 year traineeship may be just what you are looking for!

As a Horticulture Trainee at Council you will have the opportunity to work in Council’s Nursery and contribute to maintaining and beautifying the many Parks, Gardens and public spaces throughout the Shire. You will work alongside Council’s experienced Supervisors and employees while gaining invaluable on the job training and exposure to various applications of horticulture including, but not limited to:

• Plant care and maintenance;
• Plant nutrition programs;
• Pest and disease management;
• Irrigation systems; and
• Specialist transplanting, pruning and mowing operations.
