Coordinator Facilities Management (3771)

Permanent Full-Time | QLGIA (Stream A) Level 7

Location: Yeppoon | Reports to: Manager Environment and Facilities 

Are you an experienced facilities management professional ready to lead the delivery of essential community assets and services across the Capricorn Coast? We're seeking a proactive and capable Coordinator Facilities Management to lead Council's Facilities Management team in the delivery of maintenance programs, minor capital projects, and asset management initiatives that support our community's built environment.

About the Role: 

As the Coordinator Facilities Management, you will:

  • Lead and coordinate Council's Facilities Management team in delivering preventative, reactive, statutory, and planned maintenance services across Council facilities.
  • Manage minor capital works projects from scoping and procurement through to completion, ensuring delivery within approved scope, timeframes, budgets, and compliance requirements.
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and frameworks relating to building maintenance, cleaning services, playground inspections, and facility operations.
  • Drive improvements in asset management practices through the use of technology, condition assessments, and data-driven maintenance planning.
  • Develop and manage operational and capital budgets and contribute to forward works programs aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, contractors, and consultants to ensure quality service delivery.
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and safety-focused team culture while supporting employee development and performance.
  • Provide technical advice, reporting, and recommendations to support informed decision-making across the organisation.

What You Will Bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in facilities, building and asset management, including maintenance programs and minor capital works delivery. 
  • Proven leadership capability with experience coordinating operational teams and delivering high-quality services. 
  • Strong contractor management, stakeholder engagement, communication, planning and problem-solving skills. 
  • Sound understanding of compliance, risk management, workplace health and safety requirements, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. 
  • Proficiency in business and asset management systems, supported by relevant qualifications or equivalent experience, with local government experience and QBCC licensing highly regarded.
