The Role

Council is recruiting for a permanent full time Carpenter who will perform a variety of carpentry tasks, including construction, maintenance, and repairs of Council assets and no two days will be the same. You will work on minor capital building projects and maintenance activities, ensuring high standards of workmanship and safety at all times. Candidates will be required to demonstrate how their experience meets the position responsibilities and requirements as outlined in the position description.
As a valued member of our Facilities Management team, you will manage your time effectively to complete tasks within scheduled timeframes, will achieve targets through effective planning, setting priorities, and organising work to meet expectations and deliver high-quality customer service. Team members contribute to maintaining and enhancing public infrastructure that supports the daily lives of residents and visitors to the Capricorn region —from community buildings to public spaces.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Trade qualification in Carpentry or Joinery and experience undertaking a range of carpentry and building construction tasks including maintenance activities on various assets and operations relation to the position; and
- Possess and maintain a Construction Induction (White Card).
- Possess and maintain a current motor vehicle drivers licence.
- Possess or have the ability to obtain a Working at Heights Certificate.
- Possess or have the ability to obtain First Aid Certification.
