Cadet Civil Designer (3232) – Temporary Full Time – 4 Year Cadetship

About the Role:

Livingstone Shire Council is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Cadet Civil Designer to join our Infrastructure Design team. This cadetship offers a unique opportunity to earn while you learn, combining paid employment with supported study toward an Associate Degree of Engineering (Civil).

As a Cadet Civil Designer, you will work alongside experienced professionals, contributing to the planning and design of municipal infrastructure projects that support our local community. Under supervision, you will gain exposure to real-world engineering environments while developing both technical and professional skills. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the preparation of civil designs, drawings and cost estimates
  • Supporting field surveys, feature plots and terrain modelling
  • Providing project and administrative support to the Infrastructure Design team
  • Assisting with documentation and ensuring designs meet technical standards
  • Building skills in civil drafting software and design office practices

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  1. Currently enrolled, or be eligible for entrance to, an Associate Degree of Engineering (Civil); and
  2. Possess and maintain a current motor vehicle driver licence.
