Asset Management Officer 

Permanent Full-Time | QLGIA (Stream A) Level 4

Location: Yeppoon | Reports to: Coordinator Strategic Asset Management

As our Asset Management Officer, you will provide strategic asset management services that ensure the integrity, accuracy and usability of Council’s asset data.

What you will doing:

If you love spreadsheets, databases and spatial data, then this is the job for you.  You will help contribute to the shaping of how we manage 1.8 billion dollars worth of council owned assets, including land, roads, parks, fleet and many more.  Here is how you’ll make your mark:

  • Maintaining the integrity of Council’s asset and GIS data by ensuring accurate, validated and complete records that support strategic asset management decision-making and operational efficiency.
  • Ensuring compliance in asset-related submissions by reviewing as-constructed documentation and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to uphold the Council’s standards.
  • Effectively contribute towards process and procedure improvements including creation maintenance and regular review of mobile applications and data extraction processes.
  • Lead the capitalisation and registration of new assets by interpreting technical documentation and ensuring alignment with Council’s financial and asset management frameworks.

  • A keen eye for detail with skills in the interpretation of engineering drawings and/or project documentation and costings.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with internal teams, contractors and stakeholders.
  • Strong skills in asset management, local government financial processes, GIS or AutoCAD with an inquisitive mind and desire to learn.
  • A motivated team member who enjoys working in a high intensity small work group that punches above their weight.

Bonus points for:

  • Experience in GIS integration, lifecycle modelling and digital innovation.
