As a Business Improvement & Innovation Officer, you will partner with teams across the organisation to identify opportunities, solve problems and implement practical improvements that enhance the way we work. Through process improvement, innovation, service enhancement and the adoption of better systems and tools, you will help create positive experiences for employees and customers alike, enabling Council to deliver more efficient, responsive and sustainable services to the community.

We are looking for someone who enjoys improving how work gets done, can turn complexity into practical solutions, and works confidently with people to design and embed better ways of working.
What you will be doing
As someone who is passionate about making work simpler, smarter and more effective, you will:
- Work with people across Council to understand challenges and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Help design and deliver practical solutions that enhance service delivery, employee experience and organisational performance.
- Facilitate workshops and collaborative improvement activities that bring people together to solve problems.
- Support teams to simplify processes, reduce unnecessary effort and embed better ways of working.
- Develop user-friendly tools, resources and guidance materials that help teams work consistently and effectively.
- Assist with the implementation and adoption of improvement initiatives in partnership with business, digital and technical specialists.
- Use feedback, data and insights to measure success and continually refine solutions.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and innovation across Council.
What you will bring
You will bring the ability to see opportunities where others see challenges. You enjoy working with people, understanding how things operate and finding practical ways to make them better. Whether it's improving a process, facilitating a workshop or helping teams embrace new ways of working, you're motivated by delivering meaningful outcomes and creating lasting value.
- Experience or qualifications in business improvement, innovation, service design, project delivery or organisational change.
- A curious mindset and a passion for simplifying processes and improving services.
- Strong facilitation, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- The ability to analyse problems, identify opportunities and deliver practical solutions.
- Adaptability, initiative and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Bonus points for:
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Design Thinking, Service Design, or a related discipline.
- Experience in local government or the public sector.
