The Role
Council is looking for a reliable and motivated Cleaner to join their Facilities Management team. This is a 12 month fixed term opportunity where you will be contributing to a clean, safe and welcoming environment for staff and the community.
The work our cleaners do at Council directly underpins community safety, delivers exceptional frontline service delivery, supports compliance, and protects Council’s assets with regular, high quality cleaning of Council buildings and public amenities which supports responsible long term asset management outcomes.

You will be doing physical duties that requires standing, walking, lifting and manual handling and will carry out daily cleaning and general maintenance activities in accordance with Council’s Cleaning Program, ensuring offices, buildings and public toilet amenities are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and presentation. This includes safely operating and caring for cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor scrubbers and steam cleaners, while ensuring cleaning equipment, supplies and the allocated Council vehicle are properly maintained and ready for use. The position works across various Council locations as rostered.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Experience in cleaning buildings and public amenities to a high standard;
- Current C Class Driver Licence;
- Successfully complete a Functional Capacity Evaluation;
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including safety boots; and
- Willingness to be vaccinated against Hepatitis A & B and Tetanus.
