Coordinator Fleet Services

Permanent Full-time - (QLGIA Stream A - Level 6)

Location:  Yeppoon | Reports to:  Manager Financial Services

The Role

Council is seeking an experienced Coordinator Fleet Services to join the team. This is your chance to join a dynamic team to lead and coordinate Council’s fleet services to deliver compliant, efficient and customer-focussed outcomes aligned with Council’s strategic and operational objectives.

Based within the Corporate Services portfolio you will be responsible for ensuring vehicles, plant and equipment are managed safely, efficiently and in line with organisational and legislative requirements.

What You Will Do

  • Leading Council’s fleet services to ensure safe, compliant and efficient operations. 
  • Overseeing fleet maintenance, repairs and inspections to support reliable service delivery. 
  • Managing fleet procurement, replacement and disposal activities to achieve value for money outcomes. 
  • Improving fleet systems, policies and performance using data, financial and risk based insights. 
  • Building strong relationships with internal teams, suppliers and contractors while providing expert fleet advice.

What You Will Bring

You will bring the leadership, technical know how and commercial acumen to keep Council’s fleet performing at its best.

Here is what we are looking for:

  • Proven leadership experience in fleet, workshop or asset based operations.
  • Strong knowledge of fleet management, procurement and compliance requirements. 
  • Sound financial, budgeting and lifecycle management capability. 
  • The ability to analyse data and drive continuous improvement. 
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.

Mandatory requirements:

  • Substantial experience in fleet operations and workshop management. 
  • Proven experience leading, supervising and developing multi disciplinary teams. 
  • Strong knowledge of fleet management systems, computer applications and data analysis tools. 
  • Demonstrated financial, budget and risk management capability, including Chain of Responsibility (CoR) compliance. 
  • Current motor vehicle driver licence.
