About the role

As the Senior Project Coordinator for City Greening, you will manage complex streetscape greening and park expansion projects to cool urban heat and expand open spaces in areas of need.

Reporting to the Manager Open Space Planning and Green Infrastructure, you will help implement the Open Space Strategy, Urban Forest Strategy, and Municipal Integrated Water Management Plan. Your role includes overseeing all project stages—from design and community engagement to construction and evaluation—within the Climate Adaptation Streetscapes Program.

You will also support the planning, design, and delivery of greening projects, providing leadership and training to your direct report as you work together to keep our city cool on those warm days.

This is a max term opportunity that runs until end of June 2026.

 

What you will bring to the role

  • Leadership capability including leading by example and consistently working towards a constructive culture.
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role in the project management field
  • Highly developed project management skills and demonstrated experience in managing and reporting on a program of multiple discrete projects, from initiation and scoping through to delivery, within timelines and budgets
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills with an ability to represent Council in public forums and to negotiate positive outcomes Analytical and lateral thinking skills and the ability to take the initiative, drive change and implement innovation
  • Experience using MS Project, Adobe Creative Suite and AutoCAD
