About this Role: 

  • Fixed term, Part time (0.5 FTE) 
  • Leave replacement for duration of Semester 2, 2026 
  • Teaching Years 5 – 9 Music, with choral ability required 
  • Teachers with an additional teaching subject will be highly regarded, and fulltime opportunities may be available. 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Plan and deliver engaging classroom Music lessons across Middle Years 
  • Conduct and direct choral ensembles, fostering high standards across a range of music styles 
  • Design innovative curriculum and incorporate music technology to enhance learning 
  • Support student creativity in performance and composition 
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop programs that celebrate diversity and excellence in Music 
  • Uphold MGGS’s commitment to child safety in all aspects of teaching and school life 

About You:  

  • Hold current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration. Early career teachers are encouraged to apply.  
  • Demonstrated expertise in classroom Music education, with experience teaching Years 5 - 9
  • Strong choral conducting skills across a range of styles 
  • Strong piano accompanying skills 
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and engage students in performance and creative work 
  • Skilled at using digital tools and music technologies to enrich learning 
  • Collaborative, inclusive, and committed to developing meaningful musical experiences
