Suncare Support Worker - what's involved in the role?

We are currently seeking a Part Time Support Worker (minimum of 40 hours per fortnight)  to support our customers in the community (around the Bribie regoion)and to support our customers at Boronia Cottage - Bribie, which is a modern, purpose-built home for short term respite care.  

No two days are the same and your duties will include delivering personal care, domestic assistance, meal preparation, accompanying our customers on shopping trips and appointments, community activities, providing general companionship, and helping our customers build social networks. 

Shifts will be scheduled between Wednesday - Sunday (6am - 7pm). The successful candidate will need to be flexible in their availability to make shifts across any given time during this period.

While a background or qualification in community services would be advantageous, more important are the attributes that you possess that speak to our values. We want our customers to have a great experience with our people, and our people need to have a great attitude, be friendly, willing to learn new things, and most importantly listen and understand what the customer wants. For this position you will be required to be physically fit, hold an open Queensland Driver's licence and be willing to use your own vehicle for work purposes, ensuring that your vehicle is appropriately insured.  You are required to possess a current First Aid and CPR Certificate,  Yellow Card and National Police Check but if you do not hold these currently, we can assist you in completing these requirements as part of the recruitment/on boarding  process. We require flexibility to attend shifts with minimal notice and have the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
