How it works
To be eligible for this program, you need to have successfully completed a Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician (UEE30820) and have current electrical experience.
If eligible, you will complete a fully funded, fee-free traineeship through TAFE Queensland. At the end of the 12- month traineeship, successful candidates will receive a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) and be offered a teaching position at TAFE Queensland.
Incentives and scholarships
In addition to the funded training, you’ll also receive a once-off $20,000 incentive payment to help you make the transition from tradesperson to trainer. The incentive will be paid in two instalments:
- $10,000 after the end of the training contract probationary period (60 days)
- $10,000 on completion of the traineeship.
Additional scholarships up to $5,000 are also available to support First Nations people, women, and people in regional and remote areas of Queensland* to take up the traineeship opportunity. The scholarship will be paid in two instalments:
- $2,000 after the end of the training contact probationary period (60 days)
- $3,000 if the recipient is employed with TAFE Queensland six months after completing the course.
Successful appointees to positions in Mount Isa, Kingaroy and Chinchilla are also eligible for incentive payments of up to $25,000 per annum for working in these locations.
