Your Opportunity

We are seeking industry-experienced and passionate Educators to join our talent pool and support the delivery of trade training across the Central Queensland Region. Successful candidates will deliver high-quality training and assessment, support apprentice and pre-apprentice learning, and work collaboratively with industry and stakeholders to develop a skilled workforce.

Opportunities may include delivery within:

• UEE30820 Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician
• CPC32420 Certificate III in Plumbing
• CPC20220 Certificate II in Construction Pathways

Candidates will bring current industry knowledge, a commitment to student success, and the ability to engage learners in both practical and classroom-based environments. Experience in training and assessment is desirable, however support may be available for suitable industry professionals transitioning into teaching.

As a key member of the teaching and delivery team, you will contribute to developing and delivering quality learning services to a wide range of clients through:

• Outcome focused vocational education and training (VET) programs;
• Maintaining currency with industry practices, workplace delivery and contemporary teaching methodologies and philosophies;
• Working in an environment of change and continuous improvement; and
• Making Great Happen!

TAFE Queensland regularly has vacancies (short and long term) for educators in various qualification delivery areas. This talent pool may be open for up to 12 months and is for opportunities as they become available.

Mandatory Qualifications/Requirements

• Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician or equivalent. 
• Certificate III in Plumbing or equivalent. 
• Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent. 

a. Vocational competencies at least to the level being delivered and assessed;

Qualification Code – Qualification Name or equivalent (insert relevant qualifications).

b. Possession of one of the following training and assessment credentials: 

TAE40122 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment;

TAE40116 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment;

TAE40110 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus TAELLN411 Address Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills and TAEASS502 Design and Develop Assessment Tools;

TAE50111 - Diploma of Vocational Education and Training;

TAE50116 - Diploma of Vocational Education and Training; or its successor;

TAE50211 - Diploma of Training Design and Development;

TAE50216 - Diploma of Training Design and Development, or its successor;

Higher-level qualification in adult education (approved by TAFE Queensland).

c.  Current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided;

d. Current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided;

e. Evidence of undertaking professional development in the fields of the knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment including competency-based training and assessment.

Note: Proof of qualifications and industry currency/experience to be provided at interview.
