Your Opportunity

We have an exciting temporary full-time opportunity to join the Education Delivery Support team at TAFE Queensland SkillsTech, based at our Bracken Ridge campus until 31 December 2026, with the possibility of extension.

As an Administrative Officer, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to business units across TAFE Queensland SkillsTech.

This position reports to the Manager or Supervisor of the relevant business unit.

While this role is based at the Bracken Ridge campus, you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses as needed.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate and efficient administrative services utilising various office equipment and software packages including word processing, spread sheeting and data input.
  • Perform general administrative duties including records maintenance, completion of forms (such as processing orders and claims for payment), registering and distributing mail and correspondence according to established procedures.
  • Operating office equipment including telephone, and photocopier.
  • Manage own workflow efficiently, negotiating priorities for deadlines where appropriate.
  • Provide courteous, efficient and timely customer services to external and internal clients.
  • Respond appropriately to verbal or written enquiries, ensuring that correspondence and enquiries are handled promptly.
  • Provide efficient and timely support to the work unit as a member of a work team.
  • Undertake research and development on matters relating to business functions.
  • Ensure day to day activities align with business operations.   
  • Contribute to improvement in business processes and practices.

How you will be assessed

The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to use computer software packages and office equipment to prepare accurate routine correspondence, notes and records.
  • Ability to provide quality customer service by identifying client needs and taking appropriate action.
  • Demonstrated initiative, positive attitude and ability to adapt in a dynamic, challenging and changing work environment.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, plan workflow and achieve outcomes within required timeframes.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively as part of a team.

• Candidates who possess the following will be highly regarded:

• Certificate III in Business Administration or similar, or a willingness to obtain qualifications.
