The Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Drafting Teacher, Distance Learning Delivery to join our Engineering Educational Delivery team on a casual basis at TAFE Queensland SkillsTech.

This is an on-site position based at our Acacia Ridge campus. While students undertake their studies through distance and online delivery modes, the successful applicant will perform the role from the Acacia Ridge campus. This is not a remote working position.

Applicants must hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or an accepted equivalent) at the time of application. This is a mandatory requirement, and applications from candidates who do not hold the required qualification cannot be considered.

The role is responsible for delivering high-quality training, assessment and ongoing support to students studying drafting qualifications through flexible and online delivery modes.

This opportunity would suit an experienced industry professional who is passionate about developing future drafting professionals and supporting students to progress successfully through distance education.

This position reports to the relevant Business Manager and Educational Team Leader.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver training and assessment from the Acacia Ridge campus to students undertaking drafting qualifications through distance and online delivery.
• Maintain regular communication with and provide support to students through:

- email

- telephone

- Microsoft Teams

- other online learning platforms.

• Monitor student engagement and progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Develop, review and update learning and assessment resources, where required, to support effective student learning.
• Ensure training and assessment practices comply with relevant regulatory, organisational and industry requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities within the drafting and engineering training area.

Mandatory Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• A Certificate IV in Drafting as a minimum qualification.

• A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent).

• Demonstrated industry experience within the engineering sector, including practical drafting knowledge and application.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with students in a remote learning environment.

• Experience using digital communication and collaboration platforms

• The ability to work independently while managing student engagement and progression.

Highly Desirable

The following qualifications and experience would be considered advantageous:

• Diploma Technical or equivalent technical qualification.

• Advanced Diploma qualification in an engineering, drafting or related technical discipline.

• Previous experience delivering vocational education and training (VET).

• Experience developing learning resources, assessment materials and online learning content.
