The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) is Australia’s central bank and a key economic institution in Australia’s economic architecture. The RBA’s duty is to promote the economic prosperity and welfare of the people of Australia both now and into the future. 

The Australian Government is seeking expressions of interest from outstanding leaders to fill vacancies on the RBA Monetary Policy Board in 2027 and 2028. 

Appointments will be made for terms of up to five years. 

The RBA Monetary Policy Board Register will be used to identify suitable candidates as vacancies arise. 

The ideal candidate is a highly respected and independent leader with substantial expertise in at least one of: open-economy macroeconomics, monetary policy, labour markets, economic forecasting and analysis, financial markets, banking and financial system stability, industry and the business environment.
