Aquatic Education Instructor

Wangaratta, VIC | Casual Opportunities Available | $25.09 – $35.84 per hour (includes 25% casual Loading, rate dependent on age) + super

The Wangaratta Sports and Aquatic Centre is seeking enthusiastic, positive and committed individuals to join our team of swimming instructors. We welcome both experienced instructors and those new to the field, and we provide guidance to gain the required swim teaching qualifications. If you enjoy working with children, creating supportive learning environments, and helping young people develop essential water safety skills, this role offers a rewarding opportunity.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Teaching water safety and swimming skills to school groups and individuals
  • Creating engaging, safe and inclusive lessons
  • Building confidence in children and encouraging lifelong safety habits
  • Supporting program delivery and communicating with parents and team members

What You’ll Need (or Be Willing to Obtain)

  • Working with Children Check
  • HLTAID001 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
  • National Police Check

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety (or equivalent)
  • Autism Swim Certification
  • Teacher of Infants and Pre-schoolers
  • Teacher of Adults
  • Teacher of Access and Inclusion
  • HLTAID003 – Provide First Aid
  • Lifeguard qualification
