Membership and Engagement Officer

At Wangaratta Sports & Aquatic Centre (WSAC), we’re more than a gym or pool — we’re a hub of connection, wellbeing, and community spirit. We’re on a mission to grow our membership, strengthen partnerships, and ensure every visitor feels seen, supported, and inspired.

We’re looking for a customer-focused, business-driven Membership and Engagement Officer to help us nurture our 2,500 members, build meaningful community relationships, and play a vital role in our goal of becoming Victoria’s Premier Regional Sports & Events Precinct.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Manage and support over 2,500 members with a warm, professional and proactive approach
  • Drive membership growth through creative promotions, strong follow-ups, and personalised experiences
  • Build partnerships with local businesses and organisations to support health-focused community initiatives
  • Respond to general enquiries and member feedback — fast, friendly, and always helpful
  • Assist in training staff on sales, customer service, and engagement best practices
  • Collect and analyse member data, track trends, and develop reports that inform smarter decisions
  • Contribute to WSAC’s culture of quick turnaround, performance, and continuous improvement

What You Bring

  • Experience in sales, customer service, or community engagement, with a results-driven mindset
  • A track record of building strong relationships — with customers, colleagues, and community partners
  • Strong communication skills and confidence managing multiple priorities
  • A keen eye for data, reporting, and using insights to improve engagement
  • Self-motivation, team spirit, and a genuine passion for making people feel welcome
  • A background or interest in health, fitness, or recreation is a bonus
