The Opportunity

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Community Compliance Officer to uphold our community compliance responsibilities. This role emphasizes both education and enforcement of Council's local laws, ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents. The ideal candidate will possess patience, resilience, and strong customer service skills to effectively communicate and enforce relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enforce and educate on local laws and the Domestic Animal Management Plan.
  • Manage community compliance functions, focusing on parking control, animal management, and local law enforcement.
  • Respond to emergency compliance situations and after-hours call-outs.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to residents, ratepayers, and stakeholders regarding compliance matters.
  • Issue compliance and infringement notices, maintain records, and participate in policy reviews.
  • Facilitate community engagement and education programs to raise awareness about compliance issues.
  • Conduct investigations into customer complaints, providing timely feedback and resolutions.
  • Liaise with government agencies and community groups to ensure best practices in compliance service delivery.
  • Represent the Council in Magistrates Court and other forums as required.
