The Opportunity
We’re on the lookout for an energetic Team Leader - Unsealed Team to drive our road maintenance and construction programs. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead a dedicated team, ensure high standards of work, and help maintain the integrity of our roads.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead & Supervise: Guide maintenance and construction teams, ensuring compliance with the Council's Road Management Plan and all safety standards.
- Operate Equipment: Efficiently handle plant and machinery including trucks, loaders, backhoes, and chainsaws.
- Safety First: Complete SWMS, conduct site inductions, and manage traffic safely.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of labour, plant hours, and work performed.
- Team Collaboration: Work alongside other Council staff and assist other teams as needed.

What We’re Looking For
- Experience: Proven experience in road maintenance and construction, with a Certificate III in Civil Construction preferred.
- Skills: Competency in operating relevant plant and equipment, with strong observational and problem-solving skills.
- Qualifications: Traffic control certification, chainsaw certification, First Aid level 2, and a current driver’s license (heavy rigid preferred).
